St. Mary's Metro District News
METRO ELECTION CANCELLED There was a propane leak in the schoolhouse this morning so the Metro Election has been rescheduled for Thursday, May 8, 7am - 7pm.
REPORT POTHOLES Please email Tom Schanaman at tomschanaman@hotmail.com to report potholes.
It has been a snow filled winter and we would like to thank
Rod Moser, Jim McGrath, Troy Mackley and Dave McConathy for
keeping our roads plowed. Keep up the great work guys!
Should any property owners have any questions or concerns
about plowing, roads, etc., please attend the Metro District
meetings.
Culverts, Ditches and Roads
As some of you noticed, this year we began cutting ditches,
scraping and adding base to some of the roads. This process
is not quick, and can leave the roads rocky but the end result
will be smoother and safer roads.
Here are some things to be aware of:
- For those of you with culverts in front of your house,
keeping them clean is your responsibility. You may be frustrated
when you clean out your culverts only to have them fill
up again with the next rain or not having a a ditch for
the water to run through. We know how you feel. Over the
past few years, we have helped to clean culverts along some
of our roads only to have them fill up again. We ask that
you still remain diligent in your efforts as they are much
appreciated.
- Please try to keep your cars, trucks, campers, boats,
trailers, etc., off of the roads. This is especially important
when it snows as poor visibility and obstacles in the road
are not a good combination.
- We are in need of volunteer electrical and building/grounds
maintenance work. Anyone willing to contribute to the improvement
of the community is encouraged to attend the Metro District
meetings.
