Meeting Called to Order: 5:53 pm

 

Board Members in Attendance: Deb Rightsell, Erin Johnson, Jan Wood, Angela Briddell

 

  1. Approval of 2/6/07 Minutes.

 

  1. Karl to be given 2 additional fishing badges for paper and staple donation for the Newsletter.

 

  1. Eclipse Lawsuit
    1. Ulrichs along with a few other residents have filed two lawsuits, one against Michael Coors and one against Clear Creek County.
    2. US Forest Service has put land swap negotiations on hold until lawsuit is resolved.
    3. Both court dates are scheduled for August.

 

  1. Website Update (Angela)
    1. Forum is up and running.
    2. Jan will submit check to eboundhost.com to extend our web site hosting/domain for an additional two years.  Cost is $172.19.
    3. Request to remove content from Alex McCurdy in the Local Contributions section.
    4. Request from Willie Kennard article author to pay copyright fee or remove article from our site.  Article was removed.

    1. 03/08/2007 Beginning Balance: $1,834.41
    2. 04/02/2007 Ending Balance: $1,850.27

 

  1. Guest Speakers: Wildfire Protection Plan
    1. Allen Gallamore, Colorado Forestry Service

                                                               i.      The St. Mary’s area needs a Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP)

                                                             ii.      A CWPP identifies priorities for the protection of life and property in our community.

                                                            iii.      It is critical that many community members be involved in creating the Plan.

    1. John Chapman, Wildland Fire Planning Outreach Coordinator

                                                               i.      John provides assistance to communities during the development of a CWPP

                                                             ii.      John can help with research, mapping etc.

                                                            iii.      We may want to involve communities close to our area, such as Fall River Road & York Gulch.

    1. Kathleen Gaubatz, Director, Office of Emergency Management, Clear Creek County.

                                                               i.      Clear Creek County is in the process of developing a county Wide CWPP.

                                                             ii.      Grant money should be awarded in May and then Kathleen will hire a contractor to assist in developing the Clear Creek County CWPP.

                                                            iii.      The contractor will meet with community members (such as St. Mary’s/Alice) and gather input on community specific risks.

                                                            iv.      The St. Mary’s/Alice Community should develop their own plan addressing specific issues to the community. 

                                                             v.      If the St. Mary’s/Alice has a CWPP, we will be more likely to receive funds distributed by Clear Creek County to address mitigation issues.

    2. What is the next step?  A subcommittee should be formed to begin preparation of a CWPP for our community.  Volunteers are needed
